OISE/UT Aboriginal Scholarship
Number: 1 per academic year.
Term of Award:  One year.
Value:  $11,500
For: Aboriginal students (including Métis, Inuit, and Status Indian)
Deadline:  December 3rd for the following September term.

Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Doctoral Fellowships
Number:  Varies
Term of Award:  6 to 48 months
Value:  $17,700
For:  Canadian citizens or permanent residents living in Canada at the time of application.
Deadline:  Internal Departmental deadlines are set each year - generally in late September.  If not registered at a University when applying then Nov. 15 for following year.  Watch for departmental and institutional workshops to aid in making applications.

Ontario Graduate Student Scholarships

Number: Varies
Term of Award:
Value: about $4000/term for two or three consecutive terms.
For: Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with preference given to Ontario residents; however, a total of 60 Scholarships are allocated each year to visa students studying in Ontario.

OISE/UT Graduate Assistantships (GA)
Number: based on availability
Term of Award:
Value: $4000 per term for one or two terms, renuable (Does not cover payment of tuition and fees
Hours:  120 hours of work required involving educational research
For: Registered full-time students considered on the basis of the applicant's ability to assist in research and field development activities.
Deadline:  January 15 for the following September, Late March for the summer
Application Forms: Available through Registrar's Office - Graduate Studies Unit, 4th floor.

Work Study Program

Number:  based on availability
Term of Award:  one or two terms, can reapply each year
Hours: worked out with employer to a set maximum.
For:  Students who qualified for a student loan through OSAP.or those demonstrating financial need. See website for information on application.
