Faith
Jones received her Master’s of Library Science at the
University of British Columbia, and is currently working at the New York Public
Library, in the Dorot Jewish Division. Her thesis was on the history of the
Peretz Institute in Vancouver.
Bella
Briansky Kalter was born in Poland and emigrated to a small town
in northern Ontario with her family when she was eight years old. Ida Maza’s
home was her refuge when she came to Montreal to train and work as a registered
nurse. She has been writing since the age of nine, and has had stories and
articles published in various Canadian and American journals, and several of
her plays have been performed in Cincinnati, where she currently resides.
A Montreal native, Yedidia ‘Eddy’ Kaplansky was an RCAF pilot in
WW2, and an active participant in Israel’s War of Independence. In the 1960s he
was prominent in Chomedey community affairs. Residing in Israel since 1971, he
is a volunteer researcher of the 1948 era with the Israel Air Force Historical
Branch.
Ira
Robinson is a Professor in the Department of Religion at Concordia
University, as is currently serving as the President of the Association for
Canadian Jewish Studies. He has published widely on aspects of the religious
life of Montreal Jewry.
Martin
Sable received his doctorate at the Ontario Institute
for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto after serving as a lawyer
in private practice. He has long been active in Jewish community affairs,
especially in matters relating to Jewish education.
Belarie
Zatzman is Associate Professor and Co-Chair, Department of
Fine Arts, Atkinson College, York University. Zatzman taught in the Department
of Theatre, Dalhousie University for seven years and now teaches Theatre at
York University in Toronto. Her research focuses on Arts Education and issues
of Jewish identity, with special expertise in topics relating to Holocaust
Education and the Fine Arts.
